Transforming Spaces Through Art
July 2021 – Oct 2021

Commissioned by the Mayor’s Office for Policing & Crime (MOPAC), we worked to create site-specific artworks for the new Transitions Hub, Y2A, in East London—a space designed to support young adults on probation. Through consultations with 20 young adults on probation and in custody, we ensured the artwork reflected their voices and experiences. Many participants played an active role in bringing the murals to life.

"Decisions are made by us on things that impact us. Not by people who won't live with the consequences of those decisions every day."

The Transitions Hub is a pilot project providing integrated services, including housing, healthcare, education, and employment support, all under one roof. The aim was to create an environment that felt welcoming, inspiring, and supportive, encouraging young adults to feel part of society.

The result: eight stunning murals completed in just a few weeks, transforming the hub into an uplifting space.

This project was funded by MOPAC.
