INYBB E.D.I Policy – Updated 1 August 2025
It’s Not Your Birthday But…(INYBB) recognises the value of having a diverse group of people with a diversity of thinking and perspectives involved in the organisation and wishes to use the differences that people bring with them as a resource in furthering our mission to centre the power of inclusion through creativity to support wellbeing, health, belonging and connection.
INYBB sees diversity as the visible and invisible differences between people – such as gender, race, ethnic or national origin, disability, sexual orientation gender identity, age, socio-economic background, language, religion, education, family/marital status, mental health status, care experience and criminal history – and recognises that these differences can lead to different ways of thinking, behaving, communicating, creating and working. INYBB believes that these differences enrich the organisation, strengthen our creative practice and enhance our ability to serve the communities we work alongside in healthcare, education, secure and community settings.
INYBB will work to ensure that all its staff, volunteers, freelancers and consultants have equal opportunity to achieve their full potential in carrying out their activities and that all participants in our creative programmes are treated with dignity and respect regardless of their background or characteristics.
INYBB will not tolerate under any circumstances;
- Any unlawful or unjustifiable acts of discrimination
- Any form of harassment
- Any behaviour that undermines the inclusive creative environments we seek to establish
Where such discrimination or harassment occurs, action will be taken under the disciplinary procedure and may include dismissal for serious offences.
