Lost Letters

Connecting Through History and Creativity
Jan 2020 – Mar 2022

Lost Letters was a flagship heritage project delivered in partnership with Surrey History Centre, funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Originally envisioned as a live experience and tour with four local partners, the project adapted to the challenges of Covid-19 by offering a series of free online creative challenges. These reached participants worldwide, bringing local history to life through creative responses to historic letters. “Taking part in this project helped me deal with the claustrophobia of Covid and meant the four walls of my room opened up and fell away.”

The project included an online program for residents and volunteers at the Royal Star & Garter care home, helping residents connect with the world beyond their rooms. Workshops were also delivered with partners such as The Halow Project, West London Mental Health Trust, Rocket Artists, and others, fostering connection, creativity, and engagement during a difficult time.
